The RX-Vision is a two-door, two-seater sports coupe that previews a successor to the RX-8. While the RX family’s front-engine, rear-wheel drive formula remains unchanged, what’s under the hood has. It’s a next generation rotary engine Mazda calls the SKYACTIV-R. Mazda says the new engine will address the three biggest flaws of the Wankel rotary: fuel economy, emissions and reliability. At this point, the fact that the engine is a rotary is all Mazda has confirmed regarding the powertrain of the concept vehicle.
